Blog : Suburbs

When looking at the suburbs on Millersport Highway/Sitcom Suburb you can see many of three aspects of ideal suburb.

House

Almost all of the houses were in well kept shape.   Some of them needed new paint jobs or some minor touch ups but for the most part were appealing from the outside.  Some of the colors did not match with the other houses but that is a personal choice of the owner.

Yard

Again most of the houses had some sort of yard.  They varied in size depending on where the house was.  For the most part there was an area big enough for children to play or for people to enjoy an event outside.  The yards were all cut, weeded and well taken care of which also falls into the community category because it makes the whole neighborhood look appealing.

Neighborhood

This was certainly not the best neighborhood in Amherst but it was a neighborhood none the less.  There were some decorations up which I’m guessing there will be more of during the holidays.  I would also guess that kids would be out playing with each other in the summer time and there would be more than now in the winter months.  There were cars parked outside houses which mean it’s most likely a safe place where people trust each other.  Some parts you could tell did not have the most welcoming neighborhood feel but would be a nice place for someone to settle either way.

Overall there are clearly much better places that sell the threefold dream but along Millersport Highway there is definitely a threefold feel.  The area you are living in and the cost of the property greatly changes the quality of the threefold dream.  The more you pay for your home the more of these features you’ll have than in a lower class area.
